Well all the single missions are complete and the Campaign is finished. Hurrah
The limitations of the game are obvious but the promise that RP has is good. If there's ever a RP2 then I'm interested. It's taken me a while as I've been bouncing between Railroad Pioneer, Railroad Tycoon 3 and Locomotion. I'm not going to start a mega-thread with answers to all the Campaign Missions but I'll answer any questions anyone has. Word of advice to complete the Campaign in California. The gold mine is way to the west and not south. Tunnels will only go through the passes, explore them early so you can plan your route. Yreka creates huge amounts of passenger traffic and locs with 5000hp can haul 6+ cars. Cheers, Robs |

Damn !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm still playing this game.
I de-installed the game months ago but recently re-installed it. It also saved all the saved games and remembered the status. I recon a couple of weeks of game play and I'll be deleting it again.

hello Robs,
I made it to the start of Missouri. When starting, that damn'd William Blake already has a station in Kansas, Columbia and Sheep(4). Is there a possibility to avoid that? Seems essential to complete the mission I think (or not?). thanks Greetings, Ronald |

There is no way to avoid tangling with the competition.
Use your scouts to figure out which city has the least amount of traffic to it, or is closer to one of your towns and / or close to resource. What you want to do is start a Trade War with the certainty of winning and also holding onto it. Because you can then use it as a spring board to take the next one. The best tactic to winning any trade war is to plan ahead. Buy your loco's use fastest (if poss) and all the necessary wagons and carriages (at least 6-7 over the 2 trains) then hit it with volume from at least 2 fronts (build a new railroad spur if necessary) Oh yeah - there is still a small bug (or possibly it's a penalty for losing the trade war, not sure which) that when you lose a trade war your loco is returned to the nearest of your towns but the wagons and carriages are lost. Hope this helps Robs |

The mission specific answer is
Go for Columbia first. Send a train from your home city with 2 textile(2) and 4passenger cars. Edit the consist to match what you can supply and also to take from Columbia (if you take it William Blake cannot). Also you want the 10-Wheeler, so go to Hanibal and research it. It's the one loco that makes a difference and you can hammer Blake with it. If it takes time to complete don't worry, keep adding to your home city with extra resource and move the product to other cities. Leave Kansas until you control Columbia because you want to send a fast, heavy loco from there to Kansas plus send 2 smaller faster loco's from your home city to hit the other side of the Kansas station. One thing I did notice was that Kansas gets a lot of traffic and there is a lot of queing up. So make sure your loco's are rich. Have fun Robs |
