Gothic 3 Patch 1.6 released
Here`s the official statement:
Liezen, Austria, February 7th 2008; JoWooD Productions, Spellbound Entertainment AG and the Community Mod team release the Patch 1.6 for Gothic 3. This Update includes a large number of gameplay and data improvements committed by the Community Patch team. These improvements deal with larger and smaller bugs and were made with community wishes particularly in mind. In addition to these improvements the Spellbound team implemented a new memory system which improves the game’s stability and reduces the memory requirements at the same time, also for Windows Vista. Furthermore the team worked on the “Where is the Guru”-Bugs, which have been nearly eliminated, due to a variety of bug fixes which were made to address causes of game crashes. The smaller Update-Patch, 30 MB, requires the official Gothic-Patch 1.12 (or the subsequent Community Patch Versions) and can be found here: (Select a Mirror from Rois Post) The Complete Patch (70 MB), which includes the official patch 1.12 is available here: (Select a Mirror from Rois Post) If you host or post please let us know! As a sidenote which is not mentioned so far:
The patch is compatible to every available version of Gothic 3.  Furthermore you don't need to start a new game but may use your old saves, but we recommend starting a new one since some fixes will only work when you did.

Hooray! Thanks for this, and well done on the compatibility thing. That can't have been easy to pull off.
