Since I installed the patch, I can't see any text.

Since I installed the patch, I can't see any text.

This problem is only known for the hungarian version so far, and does obviously occur when the users installed the english version of Gothic 3, but used the hungarian version of the CP 1.5 installer afterwards.

There are two possible solutions:

1) If you're used to play the game in english, and you want to keep the subtitles in english

Please install the english version of CP 1.5, not the hungarian version.

2) If you want to see hungarian subtitles

Please do this:

a) Open the file "ge3.ini" in the folder "Ini" which is in your Gothic 3 installation folder.
Now make sure that the following entries have the value "Hungarian":
Voice.Entry_0
Subtitle.Entry_0
Text
Audio

So in the end, the nearly last lines of the file should look something like this:
Subtitle.SupportedCount=1
Subtitle.Entry_0=Hungarian

[Language]
Text=Hungarian
b) Open the file "UserOptions.ini" in your savegame folder.
Make sure that the following entry has the value "Hungarian":
SubtitleLanguage

This should be the result:
SubtitleLanguage=Hungarian
Don't forget to save the ini files after changing.

Hi there! It would be great if a moderator could move the post above to the closed FAQ thread (http://forum.jowood.com/showthread.php?t=146793) and link it in the first post, after "h) How can I can I keep my own own ge3.ini?"

Thank you!

I will remind, that in the contract with Russobit-M and GFI, JoWooD production - are obliged to give in due time support for Russian version Gothic 3.
Community certainly is not obliged anything to us, but if it acquired the status of the official patch, JoWood shall, as soon as possible to contact the "Russobit-M" and "GFI" about this!
Otherwise, we can demand from both of them and JoWood, Russjbit-M and GFI interactive in the international court.

Thank you!

I understand your extreme impatience, but how should we know how long it will take?

There seems to be a misunderstanding here: The Community Patches are inofficial, which means that there are no contracts at all.

RoiDanton already wrote that he'll get in contact with the russian provider. How fast do you work in your business? And how fast do you react in your spare time? And do your business partners always react instantly? No matter how complicated? This is really offending of you, DiegoAG, and I take it as a personal attack.
You demand a service from us after 48 hours, and this despite the fact that the problem first came to attention on a friday! Do the people of Russobit-M and GFI really work on saturdays and sundays? We can only do something for you when we have first feedback. And then we need time to change the code and test the results. How old are you? Are you a pure consumer or do you have a job?
And as I said: This patch has in no way "acquired the status of the official patch".

Let's just say: You're talking to the wrong persons here. You seem to have detailed access to some contracts, please feel free to sue somebody.

You demand a service from us after 48 hours,
It exclusively my personal mistake.
There is no, I did not ask the immediate answer from you.

You have not correctly understood me.
On Friday Russobit-M and GFI have answered me, that anything will do.

Only according to Russobit-M.

Please do not accept all above told on yours side!
I from you did not demand anything.
I did not want and I do not wish to offend anybody from Community!

All my indignation is directed on Game Factory Interactive and JoWooD Production.
Which have refused to support Gothic 3. at all.

They have written to me at Friday In the rough form, that in general will anything do with not official patches, as well as with the official ones.

In Russia there is no possibility of legal acquisition of not adapted disks on sale in other countries.

CP is unofficial, but anyway, have support from JW (and SpellBound)?
Then correctly call CPs as a modification, but not a patch?
But... CT have the source code.
Oh noes, I've got confused ;(

Oh, okay, I haven't been aware of this, of course. It seems there has indeed been a misunderstanding here.

Well, let's say Gothic 3 is a car, maybe a Ford.
A "patch" would be if the motor has broken down and somebody repaired it. If this "somebody" person works for Ford, it's an official patch, and if this person is just a friend or a neighbor (or even yourself) it's an unofficial patch.

A "modification" would be it your car is working just fine, and you would like to add some spoilers or change the colour or the radio or something.

Really liked this explanation! Great comparison!

Censoring of Women

In Community patch 1.4 it says Censoring of women removed. What do they mean by that. I don't notice a difference, although I don't know what difference to look for, either.

In enother country the Ford's partner, has replaced the locks and Ford's keys by his own.

If this person (having correct keys) from Ford is just a friend or a neighbor (or even yourself) it's an unofficial patch.

What to prevent them, to be such kind person if it is not difficult, to make for Russian not locked Ford (version an unofficial patch) right now, if Ford (Piranha Bytes) any more is not the owner of the rights of the developer?

All of us will be very grateful to you for it!

Please do not think, that I wish to offend you, or whom that another!
It is very difficult to me to translate from Russian into English.
Forgive for that, I well translate from English language, but I write in English very badly (Grammatical).

With the best regards,
Sergey.

It's still a patch made by Ford then, installed by you.

Anyhow, it seems there are some more copy-protection problems and we're trying to find a solution to fit all versions of Gothic 3 (D2D-download, American and European release, Russian release ....)

missing quest NPCs

Not sure if this has been covered elsewhere on the forum, but I ran into this little bug after starting a new game with the latest 1.5 patch...

Everything seemed normal in Ardea, so I follow Gorn to Reddock and go to take on the tunnel quest, and I find it odd that there are no creatures in the tunnel at all. So I head up the side of the mountain a bit to find the farm outside Cape Dun, and that blacksmith/slave guy is there, but no orcs! At all! The Hungry Wolves from the same quest are missing, and several interactable NPCs in Cape Dun are gone too.
At this point I think, 'Yay! The whole world in front of me and no important NPCs to stop me stealing stuff!' so I start running for Nordmar and wolves kill me.

Anyway, anybody else run into this problem?

I have had the same troubles once, no Orks, no Npc's, no Creature's was'nt at all, except Diego, Gorn, Milten and some other.
I have saved the game, in console have entered command: goto KapDun_Wolf, and have appeared under the earth in the darkness.
It seems to me, that happens, that all have failed down through textures.
I restart the new game Immediately, and all became normal.

Good luck!
