I too am getting kicked out of the game. I actually had to apply the 1.04e patch to even get the game to run after installtion! It will randomly kick me out to windows desktop.

Is anyone else running Windows 2000 Professional(SP2).

Attached is a text file from a directx Diagnostics test. I know I have a couple of files that are "Uncertified", but I do not have any problems playing lots of other games. HELP!!!

Hi moronic!

First of all get the latest driver for your video card at www.nvidia.com. Or try Detonator 21.83 at www.guru3d.com.
There is also a new upgrade of Direct X available at www.microsoft.com/directx

If the problem persists or problem is solved please state it here.

Thank you for your timely response! I was doing a little troubleshooting last night with Gorasul and found that it is crashing when a new enemy is encountered or a new area such as a new forest or town is first being entered when I haven't saved for a while. It is almost like it is caching all new things discovered to the swap file until you save your game...!!?? This is just a stab in the dark.
I also got a virtual memory error with Windows 2000 Professional. My swap file was 384 to 768, but when I encountered a new enemy in a new forest it told me that I was low on virtual memory and minimized Gorasul. I was not completely kicked out that time. I changed my swap file to 512 to 1024 and found that not only did the game play smooth all the time without many sound interruptions, but I was able to play for about 2 hrs last night without any problems whatsoever.
I'll play it more tonight and if I get kicked out again or it crashes in some wierd way I'll update the things you suggested! Again thank you very much..!

Kicked out again. I updated my video driver to the one suggested because I could not play another game(Rainbow6 Blackthorn). The video driver fixed the other game problem however Gorasul is still crashing at random. Kicked me right back to windows with no error code!
I am going to get the Directx update although I thought I had already gotten the 8.1 update from www.Windowsupdate.com, but according to the directx Diag tool it is only 8.0. So here goes... I'm going to update DirectX to the latest version and see what happens!

I updated my video driver to Nvidia Detanator version 21.83 and updated my Creative Live X-Gamer driver to the latest version Dated 11/2/2001 which now shows that there are no problems with Directx compatibility. I also updated DirectX to version 8.1!
Attached is a text file which is saved information from the DxDiag tool. It shows that there are no problems with hardware/driver compatibility and I am now able to play other games that I could never play under windows 2000 Professional and had given up on! Not Gorasul though! It is now kicking me out more often. I only get to play for about 5 or 10 minutes and *BOOM* back to the windows desktop.
Playing the same parts over and over in this game gets very annoying and discouraging! I am not overclocking any of my hardware and do not have any problems with my machine other than Gorasul...!

HELP!!!!

I uninstalled Gorasul after updating my video, sound and directx. I then deleted my saved games as well and started from scratch! I played for 2 hours straight and didn't have one problem..!! If I do not post again within the next couple of days then the problem is solved... Thanks for the help!

:D Could you list the web sites where you downloaded your vidio and sound drivers all I seem to be able to find are the Nvidia 23.11 drivers and guru3d.com seems to be offline

WSOglesbee,

I got the 21.83 driver for my Nvidia(Asus 6800 Deluxe) from http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?PAGE=pg_20010907751234 which is the Nvidia Drivers Archive section for Windows 2000 Professional. Once you go to www.nvidia.com choose drivers and operating system from the pop-up menu and then on the left hand side of the screen choose "Driver Archive".

I have a Sound Blaster Live X-gamer and I got the drivers for it from www.creative.com. More specifically, here is the URL for their all drivers download support page.
http://www.creative.com/support/files/download.asp

Just choose your Region, Operating system and Sound card from the boxes. While looking through the available drivers choose the one that is designed for your specific model number. Mine for example is "CT4760".

Hope this helps you!

Well it kicked me out again! this time only after about 5mins of play time. I played yesterday from the beginning up to freeing the Village of Tolip from the Hellhounds. Then I geared up to head to the forest. I saved my game and went to bed. I came back today and loaded my game and headed into the forest I was kicking some ass with my Hunting bow and poison arrows when *BAM* back to windows I went! No error or warning!

Dxdiag.txt attached to posting. Any ideas??

After getting everything up to date I was still getting kicked out of Gorasul after no more than 5 or 10 minutes of play time. I made a shortcut to Gorasul.exe on the windows desktop and started playing around with the settings. Under the compatibility tab on the shortcut properties there are 2 settings. Windows 95 Compatibility mode and Windows NT 4.0 SP5 Compatibility mode. I set the shortcut to run Gorasul in Windows NT 4.0 SP5 and played Gorasul for nearly 4 hours last night without any lock ups and without getting kicked out.

Maybe I have a solution for my problem and maybe not!

I was reading what this compatibility mode tab is for under shortcut properties and found that it is used for programs that were not programmed properly for Windows 2000. I thought Gorasul was programmed for Windows 98 and Windows 2000 specifically...!???
Again as I stated in earlier posts after the video, sound and DirectX software updates I did on my computer, I can now play games flawlessly that I couldn't even run before the updates. All of my problems with every other game except for Gorasul were fixed with just the updates. If the Compatibility mode setting fixes Gorasul I will keep it and continue to play it, but I will not be very happy about it.
