Can't Install :-(

I am running Windows XP with an ATI 32 MB DDR Vid card, Creative SB Live Soundcard, 1 ghz Athon with 256 PC133 RAM, 40 GB HD (about 10 GB are free).

I put my CD in, and It goes through the start of the install It puts disc one, then it ask for disc 2 so I put it in, and then it goes to a file called wavmsc I think thats what it called and the bar just sits there full and the time goes up to like 30 minutes, and it sits there not doing anything my HD light and CD-ROM lite is still on too. I tried waiting 2 hours for it. I tried restarting, i tried reinstalling windows XP, I tried updating all my video/direct Drivers.

I do Computer tech support I have tried most of the obvious stuff! Anyone got any suggestions?

Hm, do you have a chance to test it with another CD Rom or DVD drive?

well I have 2 Cd-Roms in my computer myself (and a Cd burner) but I went and tried it on my brothers computer (win2k) and it seemed to work okay, I doubt its the Cd-ROm I think it is some win XP issue possibly. I don't know

Well, from all what I heard, this *could* be a possible XP issue.
Did you already installed VIA pack 4.36 (3) on your machine?

Via what? heheh I am fully updated if thats what ya mean maybe..

This is a bios update for your mainboard. It may helps to fix some XP issues.
