Upon attempting to load Gothic 3 I get an error- Copy protection driver is not installed. Please execute the file Support/DrvSetup.xe on your CD/DVD to install the necessary driver. Upon doing that i get TAGES Drivers Unable to proceed(error 577). I have VISTA so I'm wondering if that is part of the problem I'm beggining to hate it already.

I heard that Vista and Gothic3 don't go to well together... That might be the problem.
But another question: do you have any virtual drive software like Alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools?

No I wouldn't know how to use those anywayz.

When I install the patch the new error is - Please insert the gothic III dvd into your drive and start game again do not remove disk while playing.

Try this if you are runnning Windows Vista.

"Microsoft® Windows™ Vista x64, TagesSetup_x64 and error 577: if you want to run a TAGES™ protected software under that OS, then you must press F8 at boot time, and select " Disable Driver Signature Enforcement"."

After disabling 'Driver Signature Enforcement' Run the /Support/Drvsetup_x64 and this will install correctly. Now run the game as normal.... And enjoy :)

Hope this helps

Yeh I still can't play the game either. Have spent the last couple of days trying to figure this thing out. I have a GeForce 8800 GTX and it gets as far as loading up after starting a new game and crashes reporting that my graphics driver has failed. Oh well keep on trying I suppose :(

I have the same exact problem. I have been trying all day to get this to work on Vista, but I still get a crash when starting a new game. Some error in the device driver.

I tried the F8 thing and telling it to run the unsigned drivers....but now I get that Where is The Guru? error....

Try the new certified drivers for x64 Vista:
